A LEGACY OF GIVING

Giving keeps the Payne legacy alive. We consider the Payne Family Foundation our most important, vital venture because it allows us to serve others and impact the communities we love. Here, we give time as well as money, and we always give from the heart. We’re teaching the next generation about the power and impact of giving, so we can pay it forward for future generations.

FOR CHARITY TO DATE

“We believe that giving is the Payne name’s true legacy, and we want to help as many people as we can using the resources we’ve been blessed to have. Using your last name for the greater good and impact beyond just your family – that’s a lesson our next generation is learning and will pass on someday too.”

COMMUNITY

If you have an organization or cause you believe could benefit from the support of the Payne Foundation, please review the following grant guidelines and inquiry instructions:

GRANT GUIDELINES

• Foundation grants are limited to agencies and organizations located in and serving the greater Hattiesburg and Mississippi area.

• Grant decisions are generally made on a quarterly basis at the Payne Foundation’s regular Board of Directors meetings.
• While the Payne Foundation does not accept uninvited grant applications, we will accept letters of inquiry and are happy to discuss our interests with organizations that meet our basic guidelines.

• The Payne Foundation has no bias for or against any particular grant type. We will support endowment funds, capital campaigns, facilities and construction funds, new initiatives, special projects, and general operating expenses.

• The Payne Foundation avoids creating expectations of long-term support; however, this does not preclude multi-year funding commitments when appropriate.

• The Payne Foundation staff seeks out programs that further the Foundation’s mission to make a positive difference in the community.

• The Payne Foundation does not make grants to or for:

Individuals
Partisan political programs or voter registration efforts
Conference attendance
Travel or group trips
Video productions
Fraternal organizations
